Refillable Gas, whats it all about?
As an installer for Gasit I speak to a lot of owners about the options available for a refillable gas system and whether a refillable system is actually a benefit to them.
Through these discussions I realised that there are a lot misunderstandings about refillable systems so I thought I would put together a few words to try and clear a few things up. So on the basis that there's no daft questions lets dive in. I use Butane (Blue Gas Bottle) in my Caravan/Motorhome can I use a refillable system?
The good news is that, yes you can have a refillable system. The bad news is that refillable systems use Propane so you'll need to change. This isn't really a problem though as all your appliances will be compatible with Propane and the only thing that may need changing (depending on the age of the vehicle) is the gas regulator. What are the Pro's and Con's of a refillable system?
Pro's LPG from a petrol station is a lot cheaper than the exchange bottles There's no lifting of bottles in and out of gas lockers Underslung tanks can free up locker space Con's Expensive initial cost Filling points can be difficult to find (though there are many Apps that can help) |
